Back to School - No Meeting Monday

Boy, we sure had a lot of fun this summer, but to help prepare for school, there will be no meeting next Monday.  Our next meeting will be August 29, 2011.

The Incomparable Mr. Brown

You gotta love Mr. Brown!  I just noticed this clip still on my camera from summer camp:

Knight and Day

I cannot recommend the movie, but Mrs. Maas and I watched "Knight and Day" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz the other night.  In the movie, Cruise's character reveals that he was a Boy Scout in this scene:

Then, later in the movie, we see a picture of him as a Boy Scout on his parents mantle:

FYI, from what I've read, in real life Tom Cruise was never a Boy Scout.  But his mother in the movie remarks about his swimming ability (as evidenced by his Mile Swim patch on the top row of his merit badge sash).

Happy Flag Day

Did you know that the Stars and Stripes was adopted on June 14, 1777?  That's why we celebrate today as Flag Day.  Happy birthday to Old Glory!
